The first conference of the International Chemical Biology Society was held in Kansas City, MO, USA, October 11-12, 2011. The society was officially launched at this conference.

Held in conjunction with the National Institute of Mental Health & The University of Kansas Institute for Advancing Medical Innovation meeting "aDREAM: Development of Robust Experimental Assay Methods Conference," the ICBS program included Petr Bartunek, Douglas Auld and Jeff Aubé as featured speakers.
