Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the International Chemical
Biology Society (ICBS) and the conference committees, we are pleased to
welcome you to the 12th ICBS 2023 Annual Conference in Ann Arbor, US.
Venturing Michigan for the first time, ICBS 2023 is located at the
University of Michigan in the Biomedical Science Research Building
(BSRB) and hosted by Michigan Medicine.
The ICBS is an
independent, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting research,
educational and career opportunities at the interface of chemistry and
biology. In the last eleven years, the ICBS provides an important
international forum and serves as an intellectual home for
cross-disciplinary scientists from academia, industry, non-profit
organizations, and government. The annual ICBS conference, attracting
participants from countries around the world, is a key venue for active
networking where scientists meet to share ideas, exchange knowledge and
advance the field of chemical biology.
ICBS 2023 will center on
the theme of “Enabling Translational Science” with a focus on academic
and industrial applications of chemical biology to both translational
and fundamental research, encompassing human health and diseases. This
year’s scientific program will continue the ICBS conference tradition of
fostering collaborations and partnership to advance chemical biology
and promote the career development of young chemical biologists. Keynote
lectures will feature leaders who are advancing chemical biology, and
the scientific sessions and poster presentations will provide
opportunities for both established and early career researchers to
showcase their research. An opening day with Trainee Symposium
showcasing presentations by students and postdocs, followed by official
opening of the ICBS2023 Annual Conference, will take place on Sunday,
October 8th, and will continue Monday, October 9th to Wednesday, October
11th.
This year’s program will also feature a session from
Target 2035, an international initiative that aims to develop and apply
new technologies to create chemogenomic libraries, chemical and/or
biological probes for the entire human proteome by 2035. Since 2013, the
ICBS has established a special “Rising Stars” session highlighting the
recipients of this award and the ICBS Global Lectureship awarded for the
4th time. One of the sessions is organized in partnership with the
European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry as a continuation of our
active collaboration and exchanges.
We are excited to
welcoming you and looking forward to interacting with all of you,
building new networks and strengthen our bonds of collegiality.
Welcome to ICBS 2023!
