Ralph E. Kleiner, Ph.D.
Princeton University, USA
Ralph Kleiner re ceived his A.B. from
Princeton University and his Ph.D. from Harvard University under the supervision of David Liu. He was a Damon Runyon Postdoctoral Fellow with Tarun Kapoor at The Rockefeller University before starting his independent program as
Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Princeton University.
Dr. Kleiner is being recognized for his research on the post-transcriptional regulation of RNA. The Kleiner lab develops chemical approaches relying on metabolic labeling, chemoproteomics, and nucleoside and oligonucleotide chemistry
to study RNA modifications, RNA-binding proteins, and cellular RNA dynamics. Current efforts include the development of an activity-based profiling strategy for investigating RNA modifying enzymes and chemoenzymatic methods for
studying RNA-protein interactions and imaging RNA in living cells.
