Amanda Del Rosario

Dr. Amanda Del Rosario is currently a Senior Scientist in Discovery Technologies and Molecular Pharmacology at Janssen Pharmaceuticals.  She earned her B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude, and she earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Virginia.  She became interested in the field of mass spectrometry during her graduate studies and decided to do her post-doctoral training under the direction of Prof. Forest White at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  During her post-doctoral studies, she implemented unbiased quantitative mass spectrometry techniques to investigate tyrosine phosphorylation, serine/threonine phosphorylation, lysine acetylation, and protein expression changes in diverse areas of biology.  Upon the completion of her post-doctoral training, she led the establishment of a new proteomics core facility at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT.  She directed its overall operations - experimental design, sample processing, data analysis, instrument maintenance, and training users.  At Janssen Pharmaceuticals, she works in small molecule drug discovery supporting diverse therapeutic areas through utilization of chemical biology and chemoproteomics techniques.  As a new member, she is excited to engage across the chemical biology community.
