ICBS Young Chemical Biologist Award 2016

To advance the career development of young investigators in chemical biology, the ICBS has established a special session at the Annual Meeting to showcase up-and-coming chemical biology scientists.The selected recipients will give a podium presentation during the special “Rising Stars” session, and each will be further recognized for their achievements with a certificate and a monetary award.

$1000 Awards to ICBS Young Chemical Biologists

 

Eligibility

Candidates must be in the early stages of an independent career in chemical biology, typically within seven years of first formal appointment, and must submit an abstract and be a registered participant for the ICBS2016 Conference.

 

Deadline

Nomination or self-nomination documents should be received by September 12, 2016. Please indicate your wish to apply during the registration and abstract process and send an email to: icbs@union.wisc.edu

To be considered, candidates must provide the following documents:

  1. Abstract for presentation submitted to ICBS2016 Registration and Abstract Page, including all authors and institutional affiliations.
  2. CV or biosketch, including dates demonstrating award eligibility (5 pages max)
  3. A brief statement about (i) major scientific accomplishments and (ii) interest in promoting global chemical biology
  4. Nomination letter (optional)

The requested documents indicated under 2, 3 und 4 above should be sent via email to icbs@union.wisc.edu. Please use "Application for ICBS Award 2016" in your email header.

Selection Criteria 

Candidates for the award will be considered by the award selection committee. Selection of the award winner(s) will be made on the basis of their accomplishments, ground-breaking contributions to chemical biology, and promise as a future leader in the chemical biology community.
